It's less tied to specific programming cases, and more about having a set of instructions that can be used in parallel for one or dozens of pawns/people to successfully navigate the puzzles. I can see some of the logic likely enough applying to programming for massively multithreaded applications, or programming languages like Haskell, but I don't know enough of either to be at all certain.
